Rich Bitch

I think this video is very interesting and exemplifies art and technology surprisingly well. When you first see and listen to this video you can't help but laugh. If I were to listen to just the song without the video I would think it was complete crap. With the video on the other hand, I could not stop watching and so I started to question why I liked this video. Even though the songs not that good, I think what makes it entertaining is the combination of art and technology. Obviously the woman singing or rapping, what ever you want to call what she is doing, is art but the things I think that really make this an art and interesting to watch are her clothing, the props in the background, her dancing, and etc. They are all very eye-catching and funny, keeps your attention the whole time and you don't really care that the lyrics stink. What brings this video all together is the technology, the beat is good and it goes a long with the camera movements, the camera pulses with the beat during some parts. There are a lot of different shots, angles and effects used. I thought what ever effect they used during the flash back, the short fast motions and black and white vintage look, worked perfectly. So even though the actual lyrics of the song were not a good form of art to me the way other art and technology worked together in this video to make it entertaining to people.

Raul Cuero PhD on Sparking Creativity on Living Smart

First off I just want to say this man is really inspiring, coming from no money and still exceeding all expectations of him by becoming a very smart and successful man. He inspired me to take in his experiences and concepts and apply them to my everyday life. There were two things that really stuck out to me; first was that he took all bad things, like criticism and racism, and looked at them in a positive way to motivate him. Haters are your motivators, what my friends always say. I am a real goof ball and my friends never take me serious when it comes to school work, so I use that to motivate me to get better grades than them (which I have so HA to my friends reading this). Also I think this applies to my art work; when I get criticized on a piece of work, I don't give up I try to make it better and don't give up until there is nothing bad to say about it. Another part of this was exceeding expectations; what came to my mind was when I apply for jobs, I don't want to have the bare minimum on my resume I want to exceed the expectations of the hiring manager so that my resume stands out more than anyone else. The second thing that stuck out to me was when he said we have to do everything with intensity.  He went into detail explaining that "we have to be committed and focused without fear of failing in the process of achieving something." Which I think goes along with when he said that the process is were you find ideas, creativity comes in a step process. There is a process in achieving any goal and even if we "fail" a couple times during that process it is not a bad thing. Every "fail" creates an new idea on how to fix that mistake which is triggering creativity. So I think if I keep focussed and committed I will be reminded that a "fail" isn't really failing it is a learning process that leads to creativity.

Introduction

Hello! I’m Giana Contrada, I grew up in Windham, NH and currently a senior transfer student at the University of Tampa, majoring in Communications and Advertising. Art has always been a part of my life, I believe it is a creative way to express yourself. I started out drawing anything and everything that inspired me. Then I decided to experiment with digital art and found a new way to design. I have worked with social media advertising, website advertising, and touched upon many other promotional advertisements. My goal is to continue learning and help others get  their messages across through art and communication.

For it only being my first day in Art and technology, I was ensured that I would not get bored in this class. Everything we talked about caught my attention. Since I enjoy art so much and work with technology a lot, I know this class will be a great learning experience for me. I am very excited to get into the 3d printing, I've always thought it would be a cool thing to do but never knew we had come so far that it was actually possible. It would be really awesome to make my own 3d print.  I look forward to coming to class to learn about the future of art and technology and how they work hand and hand. I hope to gain knowledge about these two subjects so that I can apply it to my future career.
